Reckoning by Kerry Wilkinson

Look out for this book published in May 2014

WOW! This book is just incredible and up there as one of my favourite dystopian novels ever. The world is crazy and that ending! Anyone who even mildly likes the odd dystopian novel will love this book! It is a must read!

I will admit I thought this would be incredibly similar to Divergent or The Selection however, this stands out as an incredible story which is so cleverly written. I loved all the technology weaved throughout the storyline; it just made the story all the more interesting.
By far out of all dystopians I have ever read this is the craziest government of them all. Also as most of the ordinary of people are nationalist, it made the government all so much scarier as they had so much control.
Silver is just kick ass! She is so clever and utterly reckless that I found myself holding my breath for her.

After that ending I am already counting down the days until the next instalment of the series comes out. 5/5 stars

Why We Took the Car by Wolfgang Herrndorf

I was lucky enough to get and advanced copy of this from Lovereading.co.uk so here is my review of the book. If you want to look at more reviews of this book visit www.lovereading.co.uk for other peoples reviews as well as my own.

"Mike doesn't get why people think he's boring. Sure, he doesn't have many friends. (OK, zero friends.) And everyone laughs at him when he reads his essays out loud in class. And he's never invited to parties. But one day Tschick, the odd new boy at school, shows up at Mike's house out of the blue. He dares him to go on a road trip with him. No parents, no map, no destination. Will they get hopelessly lost in the middle of nowhere? Probably. Will they meet crazy people and get into serious trouble? Definitely. But will they ever be called boring again? Not a chance."

Despite being very slow to start this book was so good. After you pass the 50 page hurdle you fly though the book. I would love to go on a road trip like this any day.

I loved how realistic this book felt even though it was also completely absurd. I mean obviously two 14 year old boys will know how to hotwire a car, drive and change the license plates to avoid getting caught. Yes, it is a little far fetch but I love the ride it takes you on.

This road trip was amazing. I love how they meet the craziest people and managed to et themselves out of some sticky situations. Overall this was such a fun read that I highly recommend.

Books I Read in Feburary

This was a very good reading month as I am now two books ahead of me goodreads reading challenge however, I did not read a classic this month despite my New year's resulution but I will read two in March to make up for it. Here are the books I read in Feburary:

  1. Silence by Natasha Preston
  2. Broken Silence by Natasha Preston
  3. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
  4. Shattered Promises by Jessica Sorensen
  5. The Madness by Alison Rattle
  6. Seven Devils by Sara Danvers
  7. Nich and Norah's Infinite Playlist by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn
  8. Why We Took the Car by Wolfgang Herrndorf
I was very proud of this and I hope I can get further ahead next month because in April and May I'll be revising like crazy for GCSEs and will be lucky to read 2-3 books in those months.

I did mini reviews of the first six of these books so click here if you want to here my thoughts on those.
