Euphoria by Erin Noelle

I am currently numb. I am so full of emotions I don't know where to start. I am just drained after that roller coaster of emotion!

The ending was a surprise to say the least I refuse to say any more then that because it was a huge twist but wow! I know how controversial it is and I am annoyed at it but seriously read it! Do not let yourself be spoiled YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

The playlist was amazing and I adored that Scarlett talked about how books she read either mirrored her life or helped her deal with her situations as I do that all the time. Even if you don't read the book (which would be a sin if your read the rest of the series!) download the playlist because it's awesome!

I don't know how I feel about Scarlett; I preferred her in this book compared to Ambrosia but she still annoyed me at times. I really liked Mason don't get me wrong he is very different from book 1 and 2 but I like the new Mason he seemed happier and I love how he started to get into reading too.

Ash........ I love him so much and that has to be made very very clear before you go on. Now that that is understood he was the character that probably annoyed me the most in the first two thirds of the book. He was so insecure and jealous though he did handle it well, but I mean that stunt with the colleges had me shouting at him along with Scarlett. However I will re-emphasis that I LOVE HIM!!! He is still such a sweet loving guy that I would love to have as a boyfriend.

Overall I enjoyed the book, I loved the outcome of the love triangle but I was still very annoyed at how we ended up at that point! But I do understand the author's reasoning so it was a good end to the series and I am left content, although heart broken, as I don't need anything else from the series.

8 Quick Book Reviews

 Sorry I've been MIA but life happened so I am making up for it by posting 8 mini reviews. These are my general thoughts on some books I didn't want to write a whole post on.

1. Significance by Shelly Crane: I loved this book so much! I loved the whole paranormal element and I can honestly say I would love to be an Ace! This is a fantastic book which is why I was even more surprised by the fact that IT'S FREE!!!! Honestly read this book. It costs nothing on kindle and will be worth your while reading even if you aren't into this genre normally. Out of 10 I'd give this book 11! Check this book out now.
2. Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen: I enjoyed this book a lot but as I thought for Lock and Key the book ended too quickly. I felt as though this book could easily have went on for another 100 pages instead of leaving us to guess what happens next. Maybe that's' just a feature of Sarah Dessen's books neverless I still wanted more from the book. Having said that I loved how we focused on how Auden develops as a character outside a relationship. Overall I'd give this book an 8 out of 10.
3. Promise You Won't Tell? by John Locke: This book took a while to get into but after about 4-5 chapters I was hooked. The story is dealing with the sensitive topic of a girl being molested and it does go into detail sometimes so you should be well aware of that. But it focused much more on the detective angle of the story which I loved. Although I did really enjoy this book I won't be reading the rest of the series. I'd give this book a 7/10
4. Just a Little Series (1-4) by Tracie Puckett: This was just OK. I didn't hate it but I definitely didn't love it. The books were too short in my opinion and the actual story was a tad far fetched for my taste. It was good considering I got it as a free ebook but I wouldn't recommend it if you were going to pay money for it. Again I won't be reading the rest of the series and I give it 6/10
5. The Dark Inside by Rupert Wallis: I really enjoyed this book. If you want my full review you can check it out on Lovereading.co.uk once it is published. But it is really good and I would recommend it if you're looking for a supernatural story with no romance. I'd give it 8/10
6. Cursed by Tara Brown: I really enjoyed this book. Although it was really annoying that it was really only the beginning of the story. In my mind I'd describe it as more of a prequel as it is more of a set up to the main story. Despite that I still really enjoyed it and I will most likely read the sequel. I give it 8/10 but only because I was confused by the ending otherwise it would be higher
7. Crossing the Line by Katie McGarry: I have had this book in my TBR pile since August I think so I was so happy that I finally read it. I really enjoyed it and thought it was a really cute novella obviously there wasn't a lot of character development or plot twists as it was only a novella but it was still entertaining. I'd give it a 7/10.
8. When You Come to Me by Jade Alyse: Honestly I had to force myself to finish this book. I didn't like it very much, I didn't like the main characters as I found them both to be very juvenile and selfish. The main thing that annoyed me though was the grammar! There were so many mistakes as the author continuously used "his" instead of "he" or "him" and also often used "he" instead of "she" which made some parts difficult to understand. Despite this the story was OK but I am so glad I didn't pay for this. I'd give it 4.5/10.

Catching Fire Movie Review

Wow. If your faith in "Book to Film" adaptations has been shattered be prepared to be amazed when you watch this film. I would go to say this film is up there with Perks of Being a Wallflower in terms of how good it was.
I refused to get my hopes up after the failure of the City of Bones movie but Catching Fire gave me hope for so many other films because it proves that you can do a Book to Film right. That's all I'll say for non spoilers please watch it it was so good.

Disappointments:
Very quickly I will comment on the tiny tiny minuscule annoyances I had with the film. The main annoyance I had was that there was too much of a play for Gale. I know this is a story with a love triangle but in the books Katniss only kissed Gale once but in the film there were at least 3 kisses. I had no time for him when he was on the screen, this is not me dis-ing Liam Hemsworth I do love him but he made it too hard for me to hate Gale. Also lastly I didn't find some of the deaths as emotional as I did in the book because they all happened so quickly. Cinna's death crushed me in the book I was so upset but in the film his death was only given a few seconds of screen time and we were forced to almost forget it happened so we wouldn't miss the rest of the story. However, even though these things annoyed me they were really little things.

Characters:

   Effie: I love her so much. You could clearly see how much she cared for them all and the whole trinket of gold and her giving the boys something gold to show they are a team almost  had me in tears. Again I loved her clothes and I did find her funny even though there wasn't a lot of humour in the film, through the whole tour in the first half she was so excited and you could see the pride she had for Peeta and Katniss Which made it so much harder in the reeping when she called there names you could tell she was going to cry. I love film Effie so much more than book Effie.
   Haymitch: Same as Effie I preferred film Haymitch to book Haymitch and he was also very funny. I mean the lift scene when Johanna striped he was hilarious.
   Finnick: HE WAS PERFECT! He was exactly as I imagined him. He was so pretty and I loved how he interacted with Mags and his reaction to hearing Annie's voice from the jabberjays was perfect! He was just fabulous!
  Johanna: This is a prime example of characters who annoyed me in the books and who I didn't like becoming one of my favourite minor characters. Really she is up there with Haymitch and Effie. I loved the whole lift scene was perfect I almost cried with laughter, and I love how her character was developed in the movie where it wasn't in the book. I loved her interview and I loved how she challenges Snow in the arena threatening that riots will start in the capitol. She was amazing!
   Gale: This was one of my annoyance in the film. In the book I found Gale unlikable but thanks to Liam Hemsworth I kind of liked him in the film which annoyed me. No disrespect to Liam but I hated how he made Gale more likable so much so I found myself wishing him away when he was on the screen because I did not want his good looks to take Katniss off the Team Peeta path!
   Peeta and Katniss: I had to put these to together for I have no words for how amazing they are if Jennifer and Josh do not get so much credit for their acting in this film I am done! They are perfect and they stepped up there game from the first film. Well Done!

General discussion:

It is so difficult to pick favourite parts. I loved the scene with the jabberjays in the arena I was in tears because I know exactly how I would feel if that happened to me so I loved it it was done so well. Also before we went into the arena was so emotional I cried-apart from one scene when they had just been reeped and the district did the three finger symbol because I couldn't stop laughing as half of my cinema did it back.
I loved the scenes they added. I loved the montage of the tour and how robot Katniss and Peeta were, I loved the scenes with President Snow and his granddaughter, Effie and Haymitch through out, Peeta and Katniss throughout. I loved when all the victors joined hands it was so emotional, I thought it was amazing how they develop n things that were there in the book eg. in the book we know the victors weren't happy but in the film the interviews made that so clear.
The arena was so beautiful and exactly how I imagined! Each of the sections we see were done so well especially the fog. One thing that annoyed me in the film was everyone could swim it seemed. In the book there were so many people who didn't know how to swim because there districts don't have water but everyone seemed like that they could swim.
My favourite scenes in the film was when Katniss was rescued because I found that so hard to picture when reading the book so seeing it was magical. I loved at the end when Katniss finds out that Peeta's not there and there is no district 12. That was both the best ending to a film and the most frustrating as I want Mockingjay NOW!

I didn't do that great this month in terms of reading, by my standards anyway, although I did read 7 books so it was still acceptable. However, as you can tell from my lengthy TBR at the side I have a lot of reading material and am hoping December will be a better month for reading.

This is such a cute book. It is the perfect light, easy read for if you are in a reading slump or, like me, if you're coming out of a series. I am still smiling. It is such a feel good book.

I love how much was packed into the time period of a mere 24 hours. Now I do not believe in the whole "love at first sight" premise. But it didn't matter I still loved the book.

This was such a sweet book. Although it is not the greatest piece of literature ever written, the story is sweet and simple.

It's a perfect light read that you can fly through. I found myself smiling reading the book. The story just kept getting better as you went on. And it was not as cheesy as I was expecting.

By the end I was squealing with happiness. I loved Oliver so much, Hadley bugged me at times especially at how she acted with her dad. I understood her reasons but I still thought it was harsh. And Oliver I almost cried when I learnt about him I won't spoil it but it made me love him more. Also did anyone else love the wee old woman they sat beside? 

Is it predictable? A little. 

Did it surprise me at times? Yes.

Did I like it? I loved it.

Would I recommend it? Definitely! It is a perfect easy feel good read.

Assumptions for The One by Kiera Cass

*Will contain spoilers for Book 1+2 but none for book 3 obviously since it's not out*

I know I said this in my last assumption but the Selection has to end. It just does.

Also I think America is going to be fighting for Maxon more in this book. In the previous two books she took Maxon for granted but now after almost being kicked out and the threat of Kriss she is going to have to fight for him. America is going to have to tell Maxon about Aspen being a guard in the castle or else that is just going to blow up in her face.

As Maxon wants to trust America more I think we are going to learn more about the running of the country and the war in New Asia. Also the King is going to try to sabotage America at every turn and I think he will break her at some point.

Also I think the rebels will do something BIG! Whether it’s just a huge attack on the castle, possibly a kidnap situation or they will broadcast information in the books. I can sense some huge political thing is going to arise because it’s a dystopian and that has to happen. Also I want to find out more about how her Dad is involved in the rebels because I am certain that he told them about the diary America had. It just had to be him.

Oh and obviously I think that Maxon will end up with America. Aspen can just go away I don’t really care what happens with him.

And I would love for something nice to happen for America’s maids because I just love them. They are so good to America and how they are helping her win the Selection. Also I want to see more Marlee. I want to know if the King will find out but I really just want America to have her friend back!

The Elite by Kiera Cass

 NB- This will be full of Spoilers



I was looking over my Assumptions for The Elite (which you can look at by clicking here) and I was proud to say I was spot on for some of them however, I was wrong in other aspects.

I was wrong in that the Selection would end I mean there are still five girls in it. However, the books! I called it I knew books would come up! When Maxon showed America the room of books I was wondering why it was so highly protected, but when America was reading the diary it became clear very quickly. I was yelling at the book when America told her Dad because it was clearly a HUGE secret that Maxon trusted her with and she just went off and told her Dad. Then coincidentally only a little while after that the castle was attacked by Southern rebels twice and they stole books. Does that mean America’s Dad is involved with the rebels because there was no way that they would have known otherwise? I am intrigued to find out.

Also that diary! Illéa was evil wasn't he! And the King knows exactly what he did. I hate the King, I never really trusted him but after finding out what he did to Maxon I hate him with a passion. Also what was with that trip to New Asia? There is something fishy going on there. Why won’t Maxon talk about it? Why did they go into the countryside? What is going on?

Now Aspen. I was right in suspecting there would be more of a play for Aspen in this book but I was glad the way it happened. America stopped seeing Aspen as an option over Maxon but just an option if Maxon didn't want her, which I liked because Team Maxon all the way. Apologies to any Team Aspen people out there but I was so glad when she told him to leave her alone at the end. No she didn't break it off but she was so close.

The Marlee scene, I was so upset. I almost cried because I cared for Marlee just as much as America and I was so proud of America for standing up for her. I can understand why America was upset with Maxon for that. I honestly was feeling the same thing but she took a bit long to realize that it wasn't his fault. America was annoying me because she was being such a girl! Maxon told her that he was going to pick her and that she should plan her princess suite yet when he didn't pay her much attention she went off and did that Report! I was squealing because she was so reckless. The King scared me so much after America gave that report I thought he was going to banish her or something. I also love Maxon so much more for sticking up for America.

I loved the scene when Maxon and America were in the safe hatch thing. It was all too beautiful. They finally started to talk to each other about what they were feeling. Then Maxon explained what he was doing with all of the other girls and even though we got the impression it was over between them it was just a beautiful fairwell.

The ending was so nerve wrecking. First I thought she was leaving. I was crying when she was saying goodbye to her maids, then I started to cry when Maxon came up and told her she could stay! But fair play to Maxon for finally taking control of their relationship. He finally took control and told her where he stands and what he needs from her. I am really nervous to find out what will happen with Kriss. This love triangle has turned into a square and I am terrified.
