7 Deadly Sins Book Tag

Again another tag. I really enjoyed doing the last one plus I've been watching a lot of them on youtube. I don't know where this tag was originly done but I watched it on Katytastic's channel (Click Here to watch that). On with the questions!


Greed- What is your most inexpensive book? What is your most expensive book?

Inexpensive- I not counting kindle book (because half of the kindle books I own are under £1) I will hae to go with "Bridgit Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding" and "True Believer by Nicholas Sparks". Both of which I got at a car boot sale for like 50p

Expensive- Honestly I don't know because most of the books I own are paperback with range from generally £4-£6 so I am going to have to go with a book I got as a gift even though it's cheating and I don't know how much it actually was but I am going with my "Roald  Dahl Treasury" it's a pretty big hardback that at a guess I'd say was £12-£15

Wrath-What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

I don't know..... You can tell I've gave this tag a lot of thought :). Maybe Jacqueline Wilson because on one hand I grew up reading her books and at one point I had read every book she had ever written so I love her because of that. However, I hate that now that I'm older I pick up some of her books and can't help but roll my eyes in parts because I've just almost out grown them which I absolutely hate and I would love for her to write Y/A books or even more middle grade books.

Gluttony- What book have you deliciously devoured over and over again, with no remorse whatsoever?

Easy "The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky". I have read that book about 6 or 7 times and seen them film after I re read the book each time I love it! One book I have read over and over that I have a little bit of shame of now is "Twilight" and "Breaking Dawn". Both books I read twice before the films and I would read the whole series again before each fine and I will admit "Twilight" and "Breaking Dawn" I have read about 8 times.

Sloth- What book have you neglected reading due to laziness?

That would be 2 box set's I have: "Shakespeare's best works" and "Oxford's Children's Classics". I just look at the books in both sets and think I could read you now or I could go on amazon and order books that I'll get in 3 days. Then I always do the latter. These books will be read but just not anytime soon.

Pride- What book do you most talk about in order to sound like a very intellectual reader?

"Of Mice and Men" and "To Kill a Mockingbird" because I loved both of these books in school and watched videos where people analyse them. So because I have studied these books in great depth I can have a reasonably intelligent in depth discussion on both of these.

Lust- What attributes do you find most attractive in male or female characters?

For male characters humour mainly especially sarcasm also intelligence but I will admit any Southern American man will fit whether he has these characteristics or not. For female characters again humour but also a girl who is strong and independent.

Envy- What books would you most like to receive as a gift?

The only books I probably wouldn't buy for myself but would like would be either collector's editions of books I already own or old antique poetry books or fairy tales because I see photos of them all the time on tumblr and go all "Oh me gurd.... BOOKGASM" But I would probably never actually by them for myself.

Yeah. That was pitiful looking back on it but as you can see from my To Be Read Pile to the right I have quite a few books to get reading, plus I'm back at school so that means library books :)

The Killing Woods by Lucy Christopher Review

   Yet again Lucy Christopher has written a nail biting, thrilling novel that kept you guessing right until the end. I absolutely loved the Killing Woods I couldn't put it down!This book was truly fantastic. I loved how we were kept guessing until the last hundred pages. I was never sure of where the plot was going or when the next twist would happen. Lucy Christopher made me feel suspicious of everyone I never knew who to trust. The switching view points enhanced this as on one side we hear Emily's thoughts and then on the other hand we have Damon's thoughts and because their thoughts were so different you are left grasping on to any information you can get to put this jigsaw together. The twist at the end was so unexpected and honestly I just loved this book. It was fast paced and thrilling and kept me turning the pages. In short another fantastic book.

As I said honestly this book had me guessing the whole time at first I thought oh it's Emily's Dad then I thought no definitely Damon then I thought Joe is shifty I bet it's him I swear I suspected Emily at one point! But not once did I suspect who the killer actually was not once. That was such a surprise. Another other surprise was how she died. I loved how Lucy showed the danger of that kind of "high" because honestly I didn't expect it.

Reading Habits Tag

Sorry I haven't posted in a while honestly I haven't been making an awful lot of time for reading lately but I don't want to leave you hanging. I was watch Bookables Youtube channel the other day and I saw her do this tag (here is a link to her video) so I figured why not do it! Let me know if you like these kinds of posts for me to do as fillers in between reviews. Without further ado lets get started.

1.)Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Yes I always read in my bedroom because I can't read with other people around. So I either read on my bed or I set up cushions on the floor at the bottom of my bed and make a little reading nest.

2.)Bookmark or random piece of paper?

I tend to use a bookmark because I have a ton of bookmarks lying about my room that were gifts or I've taken from a library etc. But if I'm out and about I'll use a bit of paper because I don't carry bookmarks with me.

3.)Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?

I can just stop reading if I have to eg. if I'm reading on a bus I'll stop reading when I have to get off. Other than that I always like to finish the chapter I'm reading at that time.

4.)Do you eat or drink while reading?

Yes, I almost always have a cup of coffee while I'm reading and I sometimes eat a biscuit but I wouldn't eat a dinner or something like that while reading. If  I eat while reading it will be a snack.

5.)Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

99.9% of the time I will listen to music whilst reading as a rule. I know some people don't like doing that but honestly blocking out external noise with music helps me create a little bubble where I can submerge myself in the world of the book. I can't watch T.V though.

6.) One book at a time or several at once?

Usually I read one book at a time but lately I've been reading two books at a time. Also if I have a book on my Kindle I will tend to read a physical book as well.

7.)Reading at home or everywhere?

I read anywhere! As a rule of thumb I have a book anywhere I go, as I said before I read in the bus I also read in the car or in a coffee shop or restaurant. Basically I'll read anywhere as long as I'm not with someone who would want to talk to me ie. a friend. 

8.)Reading out lout or silently in your head?

In my head all the time except if there is a word I don't know then I'll say it aloud to help me understand it.

9.)Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

I do skip pages at times, sometimes when the description of the forest goes on for 2-4 pages I'll just skim it quickly or skip it altogether. I don't read ahead or read the last page though.

10.)Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

Honestly it depends how much I like the book or the size of the book, because when reading books that are 500-700 pages long it's nearly impossible not to break the spine and if I hate the book I'll be like "I don't care if you fall apart."

11.)Do you write in your books?

No! No! No! No! No! That is defacing the book and I hate that. I have never in my life written on a book even as a child. It drives me up the wall when I see tumblr posts where someones scribbled out the whole page bar three words or highlighting asdfghjkl I just can't I want to scream. Don't even get me started on people who carve books into shapes or carve a hiding place in them.

Soulmates

^Can I start by saying the cover is beautiful!!!!^

This book was amazing I couldn't put it down! It's fast paced and so intriguing!!!!!!I loved this book so much I can't even describe it. I loved Poppy as a main character she was funny and I loved her sarcasm and then there's Noah and I don't need to elaborate on that because you will love him. I loved the new view point on soulmates and what happens when you find them. It is such an original idea and really stands out in the crowd. I loved the changing view points and the weird version of our world Holly created. And I have to say that this book went in a completely different direction then I thought it would go. To some the book up in a word it's unbelievable!

    I loved the twist Holly made in this book. Soulmates are so powerful they destroy the world it's crazy it took every pre-conceived thought out of my head and through it out the window! I can't describe how much this book shook me. I hated Anita and her cynical idea on love but at the same time understood her bitterness.

    Was I the only one who hated Ruth? My favourite part of the whole book was in the beginning when Poppy turned to Noah and said "Oh by the way she had clamydia twice" That was fabulous I died laughing. This book was so funny. But oh can we talk about the ending talk about tragic step aside Romeo and Juliet we have a new winner. I mean knowing that your soulmate is out there and you know who they are but also knowing that you can never ever see them again and living on anyway. That had me in tears and I don't cry at books often!

Yeah this book was awesome and you should definitely check it out!

Stolen by Lucy Christopher

For the Non-Spoiler section I will say I was surprised by this book. As you can probably guess from my past book reviews this book is a lot darker than I would normally read but I still found it amazing! It was fast paced in the beginning, it did slow down in the middle but the end was just crazy! I did not expect the ending. I love Gemma she is amazing and so calm compared to what I'd be. This book also had me thinking a lot about what you normally think of in a kidnapping.

*Spoilers Commence Now*

   Now if your like me when reading the word kidnapped you thought, "God she's going to be held in some basement, starved, raped or even sold on the black market." But no that is almost the complete opposite of what happened. I am also not going to lie I kind of like Ty. I know he's her kidnapper and I really shouldn't because I mean he kidnapped her! But he was so sweet he let her run away like 4 times and always saved her from dying afterwards. He never abused her and he looked after her and yes I know he stole her and it wasn't right but still. I loved hearing about him and why he took her and when you take into consideration his past and everything you can see why he thought he was protecting her and I know it's wrong but I... understand in a way... I don't know I'm so confused. This book has me thinking so much and on one hand I know it's wrong but on the other it was just so beautiful. I can't explain my feelings towards Ty well because I sound like I have Stockholm Syndrom too. Lucy Christopher did an excellent job writting this because I find myself having the same battle Gemma has at the end of the book.

    I loved the setting in the desert and when they got the camel I loved her. I know it's a camel but still she was such a good symbol of what was happening to Gemma. Oh let's talk about the ending I was not expecting Ty to take her to the mine site. I know Ty said earlier on in the book that he would let her go but I almost didn't believe him or I thought she'd want to stay. Clearly I thought the book was going to end completely differently even though I knew in the back of my mind she'd end up back with her family.

This book just has me so conflicted in myself because I just don't know I'm questioning everything I've ever thought on kidnappers and situations. Lucy Christopher I raise my hat to you because you wrote one hell of a good book. I sound stupid so I'll leave it there but seriously let me know what you thought of Ty!

The Wanted Series by Kelly Elliott Talk!

As I promised in my Faithful review I am going to talk all about the Wanted series by Kelly Elliott. So I know this will be a long post so lets get started.

Favourites!!!

Favourite Male: Josh without a doubt! He is hilarious and so sweet and just amazing! I know that can be said for every male but in my opinion Josh is the best and I would love to steal him from Heather because he's just awesome. 

Favourite Female: Ari! This girl is so feisty and funny and just bad ass. I would love to be her! God I just love her!

Favourite Couple: Ellie and Gunner. They are just the obvious winners they are so perfect together and I feel as though there was never any doubt about them being together in any of the books. Nothing phases them with every other couple there were moments (mostly in the epilogues) that you got genuinely scared they wouldn't make it. However,  with Ellie and Gunner you never get that ever!

Favourite Minor Character: This has to be a tie between Elizabeth (Josh's Mum) or Gramps (Gunner's Granda). On one hand I want to say Elizabeth because she is so funny and she is so great with Heather treating her like a daughter and giving her the kind of motherly advice that Heather can no longer get from her mum. Then on the other hand Gramps is so good and he treats everyone like one of his own and he is so innocently funny walking in to everyone's houses at inappropriate times he makes me smile.

Favourite Book: Easy hands down Faithful.

Onto the Books

Wanted (Book 1): Loved this book honestly I read it ages ago so I can't remember every detail but I remember loving it. I loved Ellie and felt for her in the situation where her Mum's words would affect her. Then Gunner is Gunner you can't not love him it's impossible! One thing I remember thinking was that they got married so quickly (same with all the characters actually) I mean Ellie was 18-19 and Gunner was still in University and that seemed a little young for me. But when you know you know right?

Saved (Book 2): I loved this book especially since I love Ari so much and I got to see so much more of her in this book. There was a lot more drama in this book and so many twists my head was spinning and that ending!!!!!! 

Faithful (Book 3): You can read my full review here. In summery loved this book it was by far my favourite 5/5!

Cherished (Book 4)unrealsed: I am excited about this book and also very curious because we don't hear much on Jessie or Scott in any of the last three books so I am excited to see what their characters are like after more development. However, I am very worried we won't see as much of Ellie,Gunner,Ari,Jeff, Heather or Josh as Jessie and Scott aren't close to them. But that also means new characters will be introduced I for one want to see more of Jessie's brothers.

 So that's it so far on the Wanted series :( you won't be getting a post on this until next year when Cherished comes out so farewell for now Wanted series.
