Random Ramble on my Book Buying Problem

Ok so basically this is just really random rant because I have a dilemma that really isn't that big but still. I currently have 4 books I have to review However I have 6-7 books on my to be read pile and lately I have just been buying books on my kindle like crazy but that's not the dilemma! I ended up seeing mortals instruments in the cinema on Wednesday and ever since I have been itching to read this series. I have wanted to read these books for a long time but there have  also been books I have wanted to read for a longer time on my wish list so I've been putting it off. Now however on seeing the film these books are all I can think of and I have also found a box set that is fairly cheap but my dilemma begins on the fact that I have all these other books I want to/need to read. I just know if I get these books I won't stop until I've read them all which is a problem because I have all these other books to read. Now my question is should I just get the books and say to hell with the rest or should I wait until I've at least read some of the books I have to read? Let me know because I am going insane!

Faithful by Kelly Elliott Review

"No matter how faithful love can be…it takes only one moment to change it all.

After Heather Lambert’s parents died in a tragic car accident her senior year of high school, she refuses to let anyone into her heart for fear of being hurt again. Focusing only on school to follow her dreams of becoming an elementary school teacher, the last thing Heather intends to do is fall in love with Josh Hayes.

Josh knows the moment he lays eyes on Heather that she is the one he’s been waiting for. During months of obstacles and denied feelings, he is rejected by her time and time again.
When he finally wins her love, Josh and Heather start planning their future together…until Heather receives one bit of news she never wanted to hear again.

There has been a car accident.

Josh wakes up with no memory of Heather, and his ex-girlfriend, Victoria, is his nurse. Heather must decide if she’ll risk being hurt again and fight for the one man she loves with all her heart.

Will Josh remember Heather when she needs him the most? Or will Victoria take advantage of this opportunity, pushing Heather away from Josh for good?"

So you may have guessed from my New Release Ramble and my Mid-Book Ramble that this book had me very excited. For the non-spoiler part of this reviews I'll say that of all the books I think this may be my favourite! It had me in stitches all the time from start to finish I found Josh, Elisabeth and Heather such funny characters. This book is just simply fantastic!

*Let the Spoilers begin*

So to begin can I just say that the cliffhanger at the end of Saved was just plain mean I mean I was reading Faithful going ok whens it going to happen and then what was it? A dream! A dream, that was mean because everyone who read Saved was thinking that Josh and Heather didn't work out and that Heather was going to break up an engagement that was just not ok. That was a mean teaser just mean!
On the theme of epilogues and teasers I both love and hate Kelly for the epilogues at the end of EVERY book! First off in wanted we found out Jeff was supposedly having a child with another person, then in Saved we have the mean mean mean proposal to Victoria twist and now with Faithful Scott sleeps with his ex-fiance! I mean what what what! Why? Why leave us all hanging like that! Cherished doesn't come out until 2014! I mean asdfghjkl!
Now on the main plot line I thought it was very good predictable but still very very good! The main thing in this book that I enjoyed was that it was so funny and light hearted even in some of the more serious bits. My favourite scene had to be when the whole gang were at a party and Brad, Jeff, Gunner and Josh all try to "out-romance" each other that was just so funny. Also any confrontation with Victoria in the second half of the book was just hilarious I couldn't stop laughing. As I said earlier Elisabeth made this book in some ways for me she was so funny even in the period when Josh couldn't remember Heather she supplied humor. This is honestly just another great book in a fantastic series.

Let me know what you think. I am also planing a whole post dedicated to the whole series so far where I'll talk about favourite characters, scenes, book etc. so be sure to look out for that.

Mid-Book Ramble: Faithful by Kelly Elliott

*Warning Spoilers will occur*

So I am on chapter 15 and am about 1/4 of the way through and this book already has me in stitches which is always a fantastic quality in a book. As you could guess from my New Release Ramble I have been looking forward to this book for a while especially after the end of saved! So where to start I already hate Victoria with a passion! The girl is a bigger £$%^& then Lynda ever was and she can't screw up Josh and Heather she just can't! I am in love with Elizabeth she is one bad ass mama-jama I love and she has me laughing so hard! I love how Josh is getting his memory back little by little but I love how he's falling for heather again! Oh and the sub plot of Amanda and Brad he is such an assmole (like the reference) I got so cross when Amanda told Heather what he said to her I was screaming at my kindle in pure rage! But I love this series so much every time I read it my heart swells like ten sizes and to sound like a huge girl I want a Gunner or a Jeff or a Josh if they even exist I want one I do I really really do!

I can't leave this book any longer just wanted to let you know since you liked my last mid book ramble.

To Be Read Pile

So Have got some new books that I am going to read so I thought I would do a bit of a To Be Read post to keep you updated on the book reviews that should be coming.

Books on my list are:

  1. Soulmates by Holly Bourke
  2. Stolen by Lucy Christopher
  3. The Killing Woods by Lucy Christopher
  4. Faithful by Kelly Elliott
  5. Sense and Sensibility by Joanna Trollope

I know some of these books haven't been released yet I did receive most of these from Lovereading.co.uk but as always I will give my honest opinion.

All Our Yesterdays Review

""You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.

Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.

Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was. "

This book is so unbelievably amazing I love it! I really do in fact I would go as far to say as I prefer this book to the Hunger Games and Divergent! Which says an awful lot because if you read either of those books you'll know they are fantastic. I am afraid that this will stop being a review and turn into a love letter to a book it is simply that good! I love dystopian books and I thought that Terrill has created a world that is so enticing you just get sucked in. I would put this book as one of the top dystopian novels out at the minute and would also put this down as one of the best books I have read this year. The alternating view points of the past and present Marina and Em as I think they add so much to the story. I love Finn he is my favourite character and I love the love triangle! I also adore how James is presented as a whole. And the twist in the end, Fantastic!

All I can say is read it! If you enjoyed any dystopian novel you'll enjoy this.

Mid-Book Ramble: All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill

Ok this should be a short post. I am currently 126 pages in and I am in love with this book. This book is so addictive it took so much strength to merely tear myself away from it to write this post! I am suspicious of everyone and this book is fast paced and exciting like every good dystopian should be! I love the alternating view points and I am so excited to finish this book.

Don't tell me any spoilers but what did you think of this book? I am going to go because the book calls me you will be getting a review on this shortly!

Fallen Crest Family Review

"Samantha and Mason are together. Everyone knows it. Not everyone is dealing with it. While Mason’s ready to give them the middle finger, there’s one not going away. Her mother. Threats are issued. Ultimatums are given. Even blackmail is used, but only Samantha can put a stop to Analise. However, when a trauma from her past is triggered, she may not have the courage or strength to do what’s needed. If she doesn’t, Mason’s future could be destroyed."

Ok I feel as if there will be many spoilers but to save any of you the annoyance of spoiling the book I will give you a fair warning. However, if you haven't read the first book in the series there will be spoilers. Now I was very excited for this book if you read me Fallen Crest High review you know that I was just a little bit eager to start. Sadly to say I didn't like this book as much as the first book however I never seem to enjoy the second book in a series as much. Having said that it was a good book filled to the brim with drama! If you could think of a twist this book could take it took it! To finish my none spoiler section this was an incredibly good book however I think I made a bad decision read the two books in the space of a few days because I have to wait until DECEMBER!!!!!!! For the 3rd book which I am incredibly excited for!

*Let the Spoilers Commence*

So where to begin...... I know how about the crazy person Analise turned into! From the first book I knew she was not nice and a tad psycho but I was not expecting how crazy she turned out to be! I mean banning Sam and Mason from sleeping together, pretty much attacking Sam and Helen, killing her twins, forcing them to move out I mean this woman is mental! I also can't wait to see if this $%£&^ comes through on her promise at the end of this book and will finally just but out! I felt so sorry for Samantha on hearing the story of her finding her Mum when David had left and having to call the ambulance then realizing her Mum killed the children, my heart just broke for her!
On to Samantha in this book, in my previous review I said I loved her DGAF attitude but that attitude pretty much dissolved in this book and we are left with a broken damaged girl who has been given a lot to deal with in a very short space of time. Again the strong character I loved so much in the first book was gone the majority of this book and of who we only saw a glimmer of at the end!
Now to my favourite brothers. I was disappointed to find this book less funny than the first and this was mainly up to the fact that Logan was not featured nearly enough for my liking. Also I thought Logan was being a tad petty with the whole Mason and Nate thing and he shouldn't have been as down about it. Now Mason lovely lovely Mason, I liked him so much more in this book which was one thing about this book I loved we didn't see as much of the "sexy macho tough guy" Mason in this book and we were graced with a much more kind, caring, protective and yes sexy Mason who I liked so much more. Sam was going through so much and he was there for her and I loved it!
Lastly just a few words on Sam's "friends". I felt cheated after saying how fondly I thought of Becky to have her ditch Sam like everyone else because of more £$%^&* advice from Adam. I felt as hurt and betrayed as Sam did. I am not sure what to make of Heather just yet and a part of me wants to see her become Sam's best friend and I would love to see something evolve between her and Logan but I just don't know! I have now clue what's going to happen in the next book which makes me even more excited!

Let me know what you thought and if you made it this far in this post leave the word clueless in the comments. :D

Fallen Crest High by Tijan

"Mason and Logan Kade are two brothers who did their own thing. They were rich and expected to attend her school, Fallen Crest Academy. They chose public school and now Samantha has to live with them. The problem is that she doesn't care at all: about them, about her friends, about her cheating boyfriend, or even about her parent's divorce. But maybe that's a good thing. Maybe change is a good thing."

Oh my goody gracious I love love love this book. I have just finished it and am very excited because I have just bought the next book and am about to start that and I am just on a general high from finishing a book that I found so great! I can feel myself start on the spoilers so I will quickly just say that it was fantastic and Logan is my favourite character and that Tijan should do a spin off just on him (cough cough wink wink) it would be awesome.

*Spoilers Commence Now*

So to get the one little thing I didn't like out of the way first. What is with Sam going with her soon to be step-brother like ew! I have read so many books were that happens and each time it grosses me out and yes I know they aren't related and it's not incest but it just feels wrong and I can't wrap my head around it. On that line of thought I loved how Logan had this upfront no crap humor the example I immediately thought of was when he tells Mason and Sam to enjoy their incest relations. I think that is the reason I loved Logan so much because he just said what he wanted to, and I found his no BS attitude very refreshing. Also he made me laugh out loud (which did make my family look at me strangely) and I love when books make me laugh.

Also I loved that Samantha just didn't care; she didn't care her boyfriend cheated on her and she didn't really care that she lost her friends as a result. Obviously I know that she did have feelings that came tumbling over board at times and anytime she felt overwhelmed by them she ran to forget but her I DGAF attitude made her original and fierce and I loved it. I did think in the beginning that Mason and Samantha's relationship was a bit miss-matched  but towards the end I loved how he took his walls down for her and almost only her.
Another note on the non-main characters I loved Becky so much she is just adorable and she feels to me like a girl who maybe is a bit immature but she also reminds me of one of my friends a little bit so I have a soft spot for her. Now we get to Adam! Adam Adam Adam in the begining I was almost rooting for them to get together because he seemed like a nice guy but alas the nice guy turns into an ass yet again! Not only did I get mad at him for stringing Becky along but the *&$% also tried to justify it! And as I said before I have a soft spot for Becky so he really bugged me!

Sorry this was rather ramble-y but I finished it half an hour ago so I am still excited and the story was fresh in my mind. Let me know if you read this series and if you did what you thought of it.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown

"Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown’s gates, you can never leave.

One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself."

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is by far the most original vampire book I have read in the longest time. I will be honest after the vampire phenomenon died down I have been bypassing the vampire fiction as all the books I read of that genre were all so similar! I mean after Twilight and the House of Night series etc I felt as though all the stories were just different characters in different settings playing out the same story. However, I am glad to say this is not the case with this book. I love the alternating view points where we learn about whats happening outside of Coldtown, flashbacks and of course Coldtown itself. I loved how Holly Black the world of the novel so similar to our own with the reality tv, blogs and the crazy fans of the "celebrity" vampires and bounty hunters. It made me think that, that would be exactly what would happen. I loved this book so much and I loved the relationship between Gavriel and Tana. Utterly fantastic!

New Release Ramble!

I am a huge fan of the Wanted series by Kelly Elliott which I highly recommend! However I am very annoyed because imagine my surprise when on the day of the original release I could not find the book anywhere! Then after searching the internet for days I am to find that the release date for the next installment of the series Faithful has been pushed back!!!!!!! I was so angry and annoyed but I am so excited for it especially after the ending to Saved! If you have read that book let me know what you thought of that. Also I have been reading some of the teasers because I am so excited although a part of me wishes I hadn't so it would all be a (I'll link the teasers at the end). How do you all feel about teasers because for some books I hate reading them for example I didn't read teasers for the second installment of the book boyfriend series because it was such a mystery of what would happen. I want your opinion is it yay or nay to teasers.

Sorry for the randomness and rambling I just felt like writing. I should have a review of Fallen Crest High and The Coldest Girl in Coldtown done soon so until then take care.

New England Rocks by Christina Courtenay

"First impressions, how wrong can you get? When Rain Mackenzie is expelled from her British boarding school, she can't believe her bad luck. Not only is she forced to move to New England, USA, she's also sent to the local high school, as a punishment. Rain makes it her mission to dislike everything about Northbrooke High, but what she doesn't bank on is meeting Jesse Devlin - Jesse is the hottest guy Rain's ever seen and he plays guitar in an awesome rock band! There's just one small problem - Jesse already has a girlfriend, little miss perfect Amber Lawrence, who looks set to cause trouble as Rain and Jesse grow closer. But, what does it matter? New England sucks anyway, and Rain doesn't plan on sticking around - Does she?"

This book was so addictive I read it in one sitting! I love Rain as a character as she is refreshingly different to the heroines in other novels. Rain is not some shy self conscious girl that needs the big strong hero. Rain is confident in herself and she is so cool! I think Rain is a good example of a strong woman. That feminist tidbit aside I also loved Jesse as the lead male and I loved how his story line took a surprising twist that I honestly didn't see coming. The only fault I can find with this book is that I wish it were longer! I am not saying the book needed more but I really want to hear more about Rain and Jesse. I would have loved to hear how Jesse's story line may have developed or how Rain and Jesse's relationship withholds trials and tribulations. I am seriously looking forward to the next installment of the trilogy! Even though it won't follow Jesse and Rain's story. I loved this book and give a well deserved 10/10! The characters were original and the story was very well developed. I cannot wait for the rest of the trilogy.
5 stars!

Beneath Your Beautiful by Tamsyn Bester

"On the outside Huntley Morgan is your typical girl-next-door, with her long blonde hair and piercing  blue eyes, and that's exactly what she wants people to see. Her name exposes her demons of her past but remembering her reason for moving across the country to start over is what keeps her alive.

For the first time since the brutal murder of her mother, Huntley allows herself to care about the people around her.

Grayson Carter has everything a 21yr old College Senior could wish for-he's the star of Whitley University's football team, he has a different girl willing to be in his bed every night and a supportive family. For years he has managed to keep his family together and hide their dark secrets from the small town of Breckinridge, Alabama,

When Huntley and Grayson meet, a force so strong pulls them together in a hurricane of feelings neither of them could have ever anticipated. Huntley and Grayson try to stay away from each other, but when Huntley's demons seek her out, their pasts become the biggest storm of all.

Will they learn to trust each other and build a new future together or will they simply do nothing about it to prevent history from repeating itself?"

*May contain some spoilers*

Now I will be honest one of the reasons I picked this book was the song by Labrinth and Emeli Sandé, I know that may be a little naive but the song fits the book perfectly and I found myself listening to that song while I was reading it. I loved this book I not only loved the main story line of Huntley and Grayson but I also loved the mini story of Brody and Demi and I would not object to a spin off book following their story.

Huntley and Grayson were such strong characters on their own each with a truly heartbreaking past! However, in saying that I couldn't help but feel sorry for Grayson as the problems he had were not given as much attention as they could have been. Also I would have liked Grayson's brother Jeff to be more of a character in the book as because he had lost one sibling I would have thought they would have been closer. However,  even with these minor minor faults (and I use the term faults loosely) I thought this book was completely and utterly fabulous!

I really enjoyed the surprise at the end even though there were a lot of hints towards throughout.
